Most Imperial Combat Drivers went through basic just like any other trooper before being selected for elite training in scout and vehicle piloting duties. While normally they are found working primarily piloting speeder bikes, many garrisons also use these individuals to crew reconnaissance vehicles like the All-Terrain Defense Pod or Imperial Troop Transport (a.k.a. Reconnaissance Troop Transport).
